Tomatillo Salsa Verde
This salsa verde is really pretty easy to make and so tasty. We thought it deserves it’s own post on how to make it even though we originally use it with our Beef Tongue Tacos plate. Try it out!
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs tomatillos
1/4 cup chopped white onion
3/4 cup fresh cilantro leaves
3 cloves of garlic
1 lime – freshly squeezed
2 jalapeño peppers – remove seeds and stems, add more peppers or leave seeds in for more heat
salt to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 500/Broil
First you’ll want to remove the husks from the tomatillos then clean/rinse off tomatillos.
Cut each tomatillos in half, put some vegetable oil in the bottom of baking dish, place tomatillos in baking dish.
Roast tomatillos in oven for about 8 min or until lightly blackened skin.
Place the roasted tomatillos, lime juice, onions, garlic, cilantro, peppers in a blender and PULSE until all ingredients are chopped evenly.
